Campbell County School Board
Strong Foundations.
Strong Schools.
Strong Futures.
I’m John Haivala, a grandfather running for Campbell County School Board. I believe every child deserves a good education and a strong start in life.
Meet John
A grandfather who wants every child ready for what comes next.
Campbell County has been my home since 1981. My wife and I have been married for 35 years, and our family includes five children, 15 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. With grandchildren teaching in our schools and great-grandchildren attending them, the future of this district is personal to me.
My working life has included equipment operation, business ownership, administration, and consulting. I’m running for school board to bring that experience and a willingness to listen, find common ground, and work through challenges together. I want our schools to give every child a strong foundation and a good start in life.
Where I Stand
A good education. A strong start in life.
-
Strong Foundations
Children need a solid foundation in reading, writing, math, and history. They should understand our country’s founding, the sacrifices of earlier generations, and the responsibilities that come with being an American. I believe our schools should help students develop the knowledge, respect, and work ethic they will carry throughout their lives.

Strong Schools
Parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and the school board bring different experience and ideas to our schools. We share a responsibility to give our children a good education. I will listen, treat people with respect, and look for common ground that helps us move forward together. That means high expectations for learning, support for the people doing the work, and safe, well-kept schools we can all be proud of.

Strong Futures
As a grandfather, I want our children to leave school ready for the responsibilities and opportunities ahead. Whether they choose college, a skilled trade, military service, or a job, they need a strong education and the ability to think for themselves. Our job is to prepare them to build good lives and contribute to their communities.
